I agree recon should be eliminated, we pay a lot of money and spend a lot of time to make sure our vehicles are capable of the road and even more than that, everything we add to our vehicles I believe are stronger than what comes on our vehicles from the factory.

Recon has been a way that the state to limit what we want to do to OUR cars/trucks we deserve to be able to do what ever we want to them

I strongly agree. Recon should not be enforced here in Hawaii.

Personally I have been saving up to build my own truck (specifically straight front) and was finally on the verge of doing so until I found out they won't pass or allow it anymore... I am just like anybody else who loves 4x4 and I work pay taxes etc... Sucks knowing they only have this on one island oahu! If the state needs money like I have heard from others who wouldn't mind this also, if it takes us having to pay even 100$ a year to be able do drive our lifted dropped or whatever it may be that needs to go thru recon then I wouldn't mind. Recon needs to go!

Recon is not needed for lifted vehicles or a good financial decision to keep

There are no set standards and no proven statistics that having reconstruction permits make vehicles safer. We have been burdened by this law for far too long and it should be shut down period!!! Stop wasting our time and money !!!!!!!!!

Let’s make things fair island wide and do away with recon, even if reg or safety goes up i wouldn’t mind!

It’s never the same when you go!! It changes how they feel and who you get!! DOT approved headlights and they said no. WTH?

Recon is a very difficult process to go through and seemingly serves no real purpose considering all of the vehicles on the road that are not compliant anyway. If the state needs the funds come up with some sort of reasonable fee that citizens who modify their vehicles can pay without having to jump through all the hoops that recon requires.

I have a Jeep Wrangler and had to do several trips between safety and recon just to get my out of state permit when I already had valid safety from my previous state. This shouldn't happen.

This program must cost more to run than it takes in revenues. The rest of the state does not have recon... only Oahu: there is something wrong about that.

Hawaii is the only state that has this sort of inspection and it doesn't prove to show any benefit
