I live and work downtown... the parking meters are a nightmare and need to go!!! Parking was difficult enough before these came along. If I didn’t have a monthly parking pass for the garage I’d never go downtown unless it was comfortable enough to walk.

Parking downtown is already not great. Lots of lower income downtown workers can't afford to pay to park for 12 hour shifts.

These meters discourage people from attending downtown events especially in cold weather.

It's expensive enough to make it hard on some folks to come to downtown, let's make it accessible for all. There has been ample opportunity to add public parking to downtown developments and it gets bypassed every time.

I grew up in downtown charlottesville and accessible parking was part of what made it wonderful and vital. I support the removal of the parking meters.

The City should absolutely get rid of the meters. It does not benefit anyone.

I used to meet folks for coffee or food on the mall but it isn't worth the hassle so I go elsewhere.

What a lack of imagination! A so-called world class city should have innovative solutions to parking problems rather this mundane suburban ploy to get monies from residents & tourists!

The city has a surplus! Why charge us to visit your bysiness owners?!

after screwing merchants with property tax, parking meters add insult to injury.

Too expensive. Confusing when paying. Takes too long to do for a short time to park.

The meter system detracts from the charm of the downtown mall for tourists and its a major deterrent for locals.

Hasn't worked. City's online comment page is flawed. Still hard to know where you can park and how much it will cost. Merchants I have talked to said sales are down.
