I've listened to commentary from foreign languages that I don't understand at all rather than subjecting myself to the disgraceful and embarrassing drivel of Carlton Kirby. His love for Chris Froome comes across more as a personality disorder than it does actual commentary, even more so than the Phils during the Lance era. I can go on and on but I think everyone that makes it to this page already knows that after listening to Carlton Kirby present a pro cycling race you have to take an antidepressant and perhaps a shower.

Carlton Kirby has the most incredible ability to segue from cliche to cliche like a malfunctioning word-association bot, while managing to completely miss the point of each cliche he spits out. He sounds like someone trying to play 'just a minute' on cocaine. This might just about be bearable if he was able to read the race and identify riders. On second thoughts, actually it wouldn't.

Kirby consistently makes basic errors. He speaks with such authority that any casual cycling viewer would assume he knows his stuff. I'm thinking about getting rid of Eurosport now, the ITV4 team are far superior.

Carlton Kirby just saying the name makes fans cringe when they find out he’s commentating! His current call of the Giro has been appalling, the bloke jokes, giggling (oh please my ears are bleeding) and incessant bumbling stumbling screeching towards the end of a stage is like fingernails down a blackboard. He is commentating to a world wide audience and this is what we have to endure? Unprofessional, condescending, egomaniac. How in the hell is he allowed to continue, seriously needs to be taken to task by those at Eurosport. Pull ya head in Kirby your a disgrace!

When Richie Porte was injured and watching the cycling on TV he was astounded by the lack of knowledge of the cycling commentator - this can only have been Carlton Kirby. His inane comments, missing key action points, screaming whenever anything happens is well described by the petition owner. I don’t know how Sean Kelly copes...

I first subscribed to Sky purely for Eurosport's coverage of cycling. David Harmon & Sean Kelly (my hero) were the perfect partnership. Unfortunately, this buffoon means I can no longer watch the cycling. Thank goodness ITV4 covers the TdF. What on earth Sean Kelly must think when sat alongside this idiot?! Come on Eurosport, get rid of this total incompetent.

His incessant giggling at his owns jokes and making light of some riders is border line xenophobic. It makes me cringe. His lack of respect when a "point of interest" is shown during a race. His oh so obvious favouritism for Team Sky is unprofessional. His inability to identify rider at crucial points in a race, while he keeps jabbering on about what he ate for dinner with such and such. If he doesn't like a rider he openly says as much during a broadcast then attempts to make light of it. Shameful behaviour in professional commentating.
