Simply the worst commentator on any channel/any sport. Ruins perfectly good cycling. Does he own shares in Eurosport? or has he some sort of blackmail hold on Eurosport???

His lack of cycling knowledge is embarrassing, even to his fellow commentators. Matt Stevens and Sean Kelly clearly find themselves speechless at times because of his inane comments, because they actually know what they are talking about. His endless and ridiculous metaphors and melodramas and attempts to be funny are excruciating. But his last in a succession of insults to riders - Moscon has a big nose - is the last straw for me - please sack him. Where in God's name did Eurosport find him?

i've recently started watching eurosport cycling and wanted to know the name of the commentators, particularly the one who likes to share obscure personal anecdotes with viewers. after a quick search, i discovered his name; carlton kirby. i then came across the ipetition campaign to get rid of him. i just wanted to say this; cycling is ineffably dull to watch and anything that a commentator can say to distract the viewer can only make it more interesting. kirby sounds a bit like chris tarrant....which of course grates a little....but i like the man. get off his saddle everyone.

I've started skipping sections of cycle races to avoid having to listen to the inane commentary of Kirby. If there was any other channel showing these race I would watch it.

Am so utterly sick of his never ending, inane drivel. Unbearable "jokes" and ignorant rudeness about riders and co-commentators. I'd pay extra for a Eurosport channel without him...

Please make this happen. I’m not sure I can take much more of his ridiculously long, mixed and utterly confusing metaphors. Please Eurosport - spare us. I had to even turn the sound off today.

He is a terrible commentator. Spoilt the first half of giro for me. Very egotistical and comes across as self-involved. Not good for cycling

There is no worse commentating that Kirby's. It is a real turn-off to watching cycling on Eurosport. We search for coverage on every other channel or media before resorting to Eurosport.

Cycling coverage that doesn't have this idiot commentating is a joy to watch. Cycling coverage that does have this idiot commentating is unwatchable.
The worst part is, he seems to be starting to turn up on other sports too. Where he is just as crap as he is with cycling.
Maybe Eurosport want their viewing figures to plummet?
