I am a huge fan. I have tried to subscribe to Eurosport from the US just to hear his commentary. In addition, have petitioned NBC Sports to bring him on. Love the food talk.

He spends most of his time talking utter rubbish. Whoever heard of a gnarly road surface. He makes up facts about the location as he goes along - not good if a youngster is watching. If I see he is commentating on a race, I look to see if the same race is on another channel in preference to listening to his gibberish.

I think he’s a probably a nice guy but he’s simply not qualified to commentate on bike racing and has tainted many hours of viewing with total nonsense and falsehood.

Mumbles on and on repeating things he has said before but obviously doesn't remember. As bad as David Duffield was.Whilst rambling on misses the action and I'm sure he pisses off his fellow commentators.

He’s been a pet hate of mine for a long time. Once sent him a question about why he used the word “engage” so much in one commentary - as you might expect, he came back with “ not me, are you watching a different channel?” Shouts too much too. Ruins the cycling for me.

He really shouldn't be commentating. He's awful, absolutely awful. PLEASE have him replaced by someone who isn't so inane and empty. Someone who understands the mechanics of what's happening and can shed light not make everyone cringe.

Wake up Eurosport Carlton Kirby destroys your programmes. Constant verbal diahorea, Cliches & misinformed comments are massively detrimental to your viewing figures . Brian Harmon with new Talent from The Breakaway a much better option.
