I'm rather turn the sound down and put on a loop of a pig grunting than listen to Kirkby's inane chattering

Where do I start?....the man who claimed that the Alps were volcanic, he claimed to know more about the state of the roads in the region of Italy where I live and ride because he had driven down them once....and Sean, that street furniture is in the wrong place and dangerous...C.K. it's a roundabout!

C.K.' s obvious lack of knowledge/understanding of cycling is only equalled by his singular lack of ability pronouncing names of riders/locations or anything else outside his beloved Yorkshire. His continuous weak puns and tenuous links are excruciating. Please, Eurosport - pension this buffoon off.

And he can take that other vacuous irritant - Sean “yes well...as we can see” Kelly with him.

His frequent mispronunciations, unrelated comparisons to his personal life, and lack of knowledge of the sport ruin Eurosport's coverage for me. So happy to see I'm not alone.
Please, Eurosport.

This guy DOES MY HEAD IN & makes cycling so much less enjoyable, with his unnecessary screaming & that awful, high-pitched voice that cracks (but never breaks, dammit) as he goes but he NEVER SHUTS UP...massive dork who loves the sound of his own voice, when we DON'T.

Carlton is the very best there is, especially in combo with Sean, and ideally now with Matt Stevens chipping in. There is romance and poetry, and life, in Carlton's musings. Who wants boring techno-nerd commentary (à la Rob Hatch, eg) endlessly droning on about purely technical stuff, repeating the same tedius crap every time after an ad break. Hatch personifes more than anyone "you must keep talking whatever rubbish comes out" but he's incapable of varying the script. Carlton's canvas is much broader: he gives you the drama when the race has drama but in those long patches when it doesn't, he may go off on one of his unexpected and usually very funny tangents. At such moments I'd much rather hear the anecdote about him & Sean at the dinner the night before, for example, than yet more serious techno-bollocks from Hatch. So serious and monochrome. This is life! Full of colour and variety and, thank god, Carlton's take on it all.

His shouting at the finish line is truly unbearable - and he NEVER shuts up. Pack him off to commentate on football...

Agree with the comments, he’s awful to listen to and talks a lot of rubbish. Have to watch with the sound off.
