Get rid of Carlton Kirby

"lets wait and see shall we". Well if we don't see it we wont have a clue what is happening because this commentator has little chance of getting it right and will probably be telling us an interminable and unrelated story whilst completely ignoring the pictures we are seeing. Same as others I go to Eurosport 1st and if he is on try to find an alternative. But this has been an issue for years and Eurosport are obviously not going to do anything about it as a result of what the viewing public say. What is required is that the advertisers (both team sponsors and TV advertisers during the race) complain at the viewers they are losing

For years I put up with David Duffield's inane waffling that was supposedly "commentary", now since his demise we have his clone in Carlton Kirby, ably assisted by Sean (difficult, difficulty) Kelly. How on earth does Eurosport make these 2 goons the main cycling "commentators" when other excellent reporters are available is a complete mystery to me. Thank goodness we have the excellent Ned Boulting and David Millar on ITV 4 that we can tune into for the Tour de France coverage.

A total idiot. Kirby ruins every race he commentates on. I will watch any other broadcaster if he is commentating for Eurosport. I hope Eurosport’s advertisers realise how many people turn off if Kirby is the commentator. Rob Hatch with Sean Kelly or Magnus Backstedt is brilliant even Brian Smith is okay. If you want to ruin it pair the idiot Kirby with Stevens; result utter drivel.

A total embarrassment. Always watch ITV4 if possible to avoid his dreadful commentary. Rob Hatch is fine but Kirby is just dire.

I don't wish him any personal wrong, he looks like good bloke, but yeah, he often talks a LOT of rambling nonsense while missing the racing action... for me the new breed, Dan Lloyd, Matt Stephens put the old guard to shame.....and I'm old!!!

I’m sure he’s a nice bloke, but I bloody hate listening to him ‘commentate’ cycling races. Waffles, rambles, and talks utter boll*cks. He must have some dirt on his boss to keep his job. Should stick to writing magazine articles.

I don’t think I can sit through another season, albeit this shortened one, listening to the incompetent word salad that dribbles out of Kirby’s mouth.

He puts me off watching, he can be so rude about some riders and it’s obvious who he likes and who he doesn’t

Carlton believes the show is about him. His inane rambling, misplaced analogies and frankly cringeworthy anecdotes are the stuff of broadcasting nightmares. How Eurosport believe he is the professional informed voice of cycling, i'll never know. I can't watch races with him commentating and this year's Dauphine sees him in his usual pompous, deluded, nausiatingly glib form.

Kirby ruins my enjoyment of cycling on Eurosport. Bring back David Harmon, please.

I love cycling but to be honest Carlton Kirby’s commentary is so terrible it puts me off watching it.
