I gave him the benefit of the doubt to produce some quality commentary but as others here mentioned the contrast with ITV is gigantic. Listening to Mr Kirby for more than four hours is painful and I feel sorry for some of his co-commentators who often clearly seem flabbergasted and can’t follow on from his lines.

Frustrating guy, because sometimes he's a great commentator. Often find him distracting with his linking words e.g. if he uses the word "glue" then he will use a related word like "stick". Why? Dad jokes are tolerable, but yesterday hey called Esteban Chaves a "pet Columbian" and that did it for me. That's why I'm signing this.

The contrast with ITV coverage has to be the most glaring in any sport.
His dismissal of the sometimes extraordinary landscape shots is so ugly. Love the cycling, but have to admit sometimes planet earth is the better show. Carlton doesn’t seem to understand how to frame the whole of what we’re watching

I will not be renewing my subscription unless he goes. His factual knowledge is poor, his repetition tedious, his ability to get useful insights out of the pundits very limited, and his speculation on riders emotions and tactics is purile. He spoils what is otherwise wonderful sports coverage laughing at his own 'jokes' whilst often missing important moments in the racing
