Worst cycling commentator I have ever heard. I now only watch highlight programmes of the major races on ITV4!

Aside from the silly giggling at his own un-funny jokes, He does not commentate on what is currently happening through the race. The camera will be showing a rider break away, and Kirby is prattling on about the croissant he had for breakfast. His non-relevant chatter is infuriating. Kirby needs to listen to a good commentator such as Phil Liggett who does his research, knows the riders, and commentates real-time about what the cameras are showing. GCN/Eurosport listen up. If you care about subscriptions, get rid of him.

Wholeheartedly agree with the majority of comments re Carlton Kirby's inane comments and humour. I also agree with James Bahan's comment re Rob Hatch believing himself as some sort of a linguist, his pronunciation of foreign place names and riders is toe curling.

There are so many younger commentators that are in touch with the current generation of riders. Carlton may have had his day, but it's well in the past now.
Unprofessional, offensive, cringeworthy, and NOT funny despite how many times he laughs.
Obviously doesn't follow cycling, makes it up as he goes along.
The worst cycling commentator by far.
Mispronounces Italian words and cities. Ask a native speaker, put in the effort.
