Good voice - but rambles ., from that I assume he never raced. If you have not raced... you have to think you have. Pace in and out of the peloton are actually difficult to equate. Sorry but Karlton cannot?

Facility with languages? Seriously?! He completely mangles English and clearly has only a very rudimentary knowledge of French - and terrible pronunciation. Anything else he's just pretending.

At least David Duffield's 'whimsical asides' were relative to the area of the race or the riders instead of the inane drivel and, at best tenuous, links to useless facts on the top of Kirby's head. Not to mention that he could accurately pronounce riders names and locations without overexaggerating and sounding like a character from 'The Fast Show'. Kirby is a clown and given the other talent at stations disposal it is absurd that he is still being inflicted on an already knowledgeable audience.

Even allowing for his facility with languages, he's absolute rubbish as a commentator. He must have lots of shares in Eurosport otherwise he wouldn't be tolerated. He loves himself far more than he loves cycling.

Replace him with Rob Hatch and Adam Blythe who have been exemplary on Eurosport Paris - Nice. Far more focused and insightful commentary.

Wish I could sign this over and over. Yet again today we've had the idiocy about the risk of riders 'grounding' the pedal going around a bend. And his inability to resist painfully extending his clichés. So Alaphilippe is a 'fish out of water' today. But a fish is apparently suitable 'physiognomy' for the weather. Excruciating.
