His constant stupid inane chatter is so wearing I tend to loose interest and pray for the race to finish.

Please, just get rid of him, and let us watch the cycling in peace!

Hate his commentary. Stupid jokes and then laughing like Muttley of Dastardly and Muttley fame.

Agree with comments I've just read and am watching Tour of Basque Country right now. His commentary is driving me bonkers!

This week's "dig" at Doctors and Nurses would have been inappropriate under normal circumstances.* But now, over one year into a pandemic that is fought daily by healthcare heroes around the globe? That irrelevant little "dig" is completely unacceptable & disrespectful. Eurosport can do better & cycling fans deserve better. Find a commentator focused on the race, athletes, and host sites, ASAP. (*If you missed it...Kirby was trying to do a calculation & felt the need to tell the audience '& you think Doctors and Nurses have hard jobs... that's nothing compared to this (i.e. his calculation)'. Not funny. Not relevant to the race. Not appropriate. Not respectful.

Most unprofessional commentator on any sports broadcasting channel. So far up himself he can see the sky, never refrains from laughing at his own jokes, never bothers to ensure he knows the facts. Even when he goes off topic (which he does all the time) he gets it wrong. Makes the late David Duffield look like a world class professional. Enough said.

Brilliant when Eurosport are showing 2 races simultaneously - you know you can watch one with the sound on and a commentary with correct facts explaining what is happening

Absolutely the worst commentator in cycling. Plenty of other better co/commentators on eurosport who all seem to be embarrassed to be working with him. Cliché after cliché after inaccuracy after irrelevance after nauseating chumminess. Time for a change Eurosport. Make 'here we go then' and ‘joining the party’ a thing of the past!

He seems to think that commentary needs to be a constant poem. His one liners are abysmal. Please Eurosport get rid of him

Thanks to everyone who has signed - 1,183 signatures is a huge number for such a niche petition. I think it shows just how infuriated people are because normally one's reaction would be 'Why bother?'

I have sent this petition to Eurosport today (I have once previously too - so keep signing, please) - 1,183 signatures. He even had the normally excellent Magnus Backstedt gibbering a bit during the Ronde - it was as if Magnus felt he had to go along with it. As ever, Kirby wasn't commentating on the race, he was telling us what he thought might happen in the future - that's virtually the only time he actually talks about cycling. Utter narcissist.

His commentary is a long stream of 'accidental Partridge'. His co-commentators have to constantly correct him. He frequently shares ill informed opinions about road surfaces. The other week he repeatedly mistook a Gazprom rider for an ISN rider, he spends way too much time talking about Derbyshire (nice as it is), he has an irrationally strong dislike of Tartiflette, he makes bad puns and chuckles to himself as though he thinks they are clever, he comes up with weird nicknames for riders ('Manny' Buchmann, ) and never uses their real name. Worst of all he is growing on me, I think I may have some form of Stockholm syndrome from listening to his commentary while working from home.

Too much chatter that doesn’t make sense and has no place in a bike race. Let Brian Smith commentate on his own, you can hear his frustration with Carlton.

Too much gibberish, I find myself switching off from listening to the commentary and seriously wondering if the French commentary would be better. :(

Ohhh how I agree. I dread CK commentating on any race and his annoying trait of laughing at his own comments/jokes make me cringe. Please replace asp.

Incessant inane chatter. None of it even slightly amusing.
