This petition is a great idea but if you care enough to comment, please consider emailing Eurosport and GCN, particularly their social media feeds. CK has a small number of vocal fans (who probably think Alan Partridge is a real person and quite like him). These fans have given the impression that he has a lot of support. Only a large number of protests from cycling fans and GCN subscribers is likely to dislodge him and send him back to regional horse and motor racing where he belongs.

The Salinas, “What does that salt taste like?” OMG, can we take this idiot off and get someone to commentate on the race with some interesting and researched local info. Sound switched off.

I've done that, Julian, and immediately received their standard automated response - including that they would pass on my comments to Mr Kirby!
However, just tuned into the Vuelta live and, miraculously, there is no audio! Bliss!!

Marten Missouri is spot on. As well as the painful word association game he plays with himself, he also endlessly repeats his own 'bon mots', which he doubtless thinks are extremely clever and show what a 'character' he is: today he rolled out the old 'pale of pallor' (wtf?) to describe poor Valverde.
Most of his massively overused other expressions ('likewise', 'meanwhile', 'testy', 'gnarly') are just meaningless padding which hide how limited his vocabulary really is.
What really gets me, though, are his fraudulent translations - they're either mostly made up or from a script, as can be gauged from the fact that he frequently gives the meaning before the words have actually been spoken, but adds in regular 'ums' and 'ers' to make them seem genuine. Such an insecure show-off.
And not a pleasant man, either. Again today, he mentioned that a rider of a particular nationality was universally disliked in the peloton (as if he would know), presumably not realising that there were only two riders from that country in the race, so it was pretty clear who he meant.
