Get rid of Carlton Kirby

I hate him saying something and then laughing because he thinks he’s made a joke. He’s the joke .

It is torture having to listen to Carlton he comes up with the dumbest comments and jokes to which only he laughs. His technical knowledge of cycling is very superficial and has no substance. As an paid GCN subscriber I beg you to move this clown on!!!

Please. The new bread of Eurosport commentators are brilliant. CK makes me want to turn off…

Oh No!, he's got the Tour of Spain gig along with Sean (DIFFICULTY) Kelly. Why do Eurosport continue with this "Jonah" when they have many other excellent commentators available?

Well said. Please send your comment to Eurosport/GCN. I've never started a petition before, and I thought I couldn't be the only one, but the response is incredible - he is so awful.

I never expected so many signatures on a petition about a cycling commentator - that's pretty niche. Not only that, but 1,300 have even been driven to comment! This shows just how awful the man is. The Vuelta will be unbearable as ever.

I’ve never signed anything like this before. But this is so long overdue. Eurosport and GCN have so many good, emerging commentators. But still they stick with someone who’s lost all touch with the sport, adds no value, and is verging on the unlistenable. I never watch the Tour on Eurosport any more, because there’s a Kirby-free alternative. For other races there’s no alternative, but he still drives me away. Please Eurosport / GCN - look to the future, and listen to your customers.

Is it too much to ask for Pogacar to be pronounced properly? CK is unable to even be consistent preferring to pronounce it as Pockachar and Pogachar oftentimes even in the same sentence. He does seem to be on less these days, maybe Eurosport are hopefully finally taking the hint. I have no complaints about any other commentator, and very much enjoy the new ones who have grown into their roles really well, like the two Danis. Bringing Robbie in this year was also great.

I fortunately have the option of switching to the Polish commentary when Kirby comes in - otherwise I’d have to watch in silence.

Laughing at his own jokes is bad enough but when they're not in the slightest bit funny makes ot worse. I'm a newcomer to watching the sport but he doesn't help one little bit.

Impossible to listen to. Again I realise I’ve got ITV4 to watch the Tour. Comments about water boarding torture today - WTF? How many times does he come out with some weird noise when an expert is talking? Please stop

I have paid for Discovery Plus for the first time in order to get ad free coverage of cycling events. I won't do it again, the inane ramblings of Kirby and the inability of Sean Kelly to finish a sentence before I have lost track of what he was talking about anyway will send me back to recording ITV coverage and starting to watch at a time that allows me to "zap" through the adverts. P. S. If the presenters are playing "can you slip a chosen word/phrase into commentary," then how little respect do you have for your audience.?
