He is self absorbed and has only a very superficial knowledge of the riders he is reporting on. His inability to pronounce the names of several of the women in the 2025 UCI Worlds Road Race is inexcusable. Even when Niamh came second he was still trying various iterations and had it wrong.

If Kirby is commentating on a race, I actively look for alternative streams. If I can’t find one, I either try to watch on mute or give up and watch something else.

Just today during the worlds men’s elite time trial, he made an unbelievable comment about Matteo Sombrero. Said “Sounds like a sun hat” WTF!!
Might as well have used the N word for riders of colour!!!

He laughs at his own jokes, which are never funny. He gets facts (about history, geography and culture) wrong but states them confidently. He uses the same tired phrases (‘ebbing and flowing’) over and over again. He has to go!

He commentary is appalling he fluffs his words. Mixes up distance with time. If he is commenting I mute the sound which is a shame as other commentators are ok. He’s awful especially towards the end of the race
