Get rid of Carlton Kirby

The dad jokes have to go! (all of CK, of course, but his dad jokes and annoying laughter at them causes me to mute the feed and just watch when I can - if I can't, I turn it all off.

“Quite frankly” he has nothing constructive to say about the racing, spends all his time waffling on about nothing and then laughing about it

1. This is not how I live my life. I do other things too. 2. You have judged me, just like I judge Kirby. Except that I have listened to Kirby for years whereas you know literally nothing about me. 3. Whether or not someone is entertaining; is subjective. Thousands disagree with you enough not only to sign a petition, but to make the effort to comment on it. 4. Kirby does not know more than me about cycling. He shows this in virtually every race. Example from the Tour de Suisse: Kirby: Bardet is coming back. If you think Kirby is knowledgeable about cycling then you must be severely lacking in knowledge yourself. But maybe you are right and thousands of others are wrong.

Please, please, please no more Carlton Kirby commentary on pro cycling. He rambles aimlessly, loses his train of thought, his segways are purile, he mumbles and ums and ahs and tries to make feeble jokes when we want insight into what is going on. And if he says “indeed” once more I go insane. Compared to other Discovery+ commentators, Rob Hatch, Mat Stephens etc, he embarrasses himself. Do him and us a favour and take him off commentary- he’s ruined the Tour of Switzerland for me.

More Rob Hatch, less (or no) CK please

Classic Kirby today! Had no idea what to say on the sprint, anticlimax over the line, bland “that is outstanding” cliche… then his co-commentator had to point out he’d completely misidentified the winning rider. Happens so often, it’s funny!

This man is an absolute nightmare in the commentary box he is annoying he let's everyone know who is favourites are and everyone else he criticsises everyone else also his jokes are not funny

It’s no surprise the signatures on this petition rise every time he’s on a race - the feeling is universal.

Hi Carlton.

You are a pathetic person. To live your life trying to get rid of a commentator who knows more about cycling than you will ever have. He is the most entertaining person who gives a race the most enjoyable moments when it gets boring. And I have been watching for many many years.

After being a cycling fan for over 35 years I could do a better job than him. Just annoying to listen to for hours and basically has little or no knowledge of the sport I love

He says 'let's wait and see shall we' far too much in the last few kilometres of a sprint and throughout his commentary

I have nothing against Carlton. He seems like a nice man. But it's just not good enough. Too little focus. Too many meandering anecdotes. Far too many mistakes. Didn't ruin this Giro but certainly made watching it less enjoyable

Too much laughing not enough information on the current race he’s supposed to comment on

He makes watching the grand tours in particular almost unbearable. I feel like I'm very blessed with Belgian commentators on most other races. His commentating is just awful.

I would enjoy watching the cycling much more without Carlton Kirby commentating
