Childish, insulting, patronising twaddle from an unprofessional individual who clearly thinks that sound of his own voice is far more important than any race he covers. Just get rid of him.

The jokes just don’t land. I have to watch professional cycling without commentary sometimes.

Rambles on, laughs at his own jokes. Worst commentator I have ever come across.

Most irritating cycling commentator of all time ... makes watching impossibly unpleasant.... please stop him!

I mute, fast forward or watch in French (I can't speak French). But it's not the same. And it's a shame to fast forward.

Thing is that he's made that Fred Wright 'joke' a number of times - pretty much whenever Wright is involved at the front of a race. I mute, fast forward or watch in French (I can't speak French) too.

Unfortunately Carlton just fills the silence with word, not necessarily related to the race, misses loads of the action, and when another commentator is speaking he shouts over them as if his words are more important. Screaming at the end of the race is not entertaining.

Racist anti-Irish comment re Ben Healy on coming second in today’s race saying that Ben would be heading to the Irish bars after the race. Disgusting.

Have to mute or fast forward when CK is the commentator. TOTAL drivel. A couple of weeks ago he said “Fred Wright-it’ll be alright on the night”. For goodness sake. Also tends to share with us what he has decided the riders are thinking.

He’s currently ruining Amstel Gold talking about duvets and gentleman’s relish. I have had to stop watching. Which is a shame as I pay my subs.

I’ve watched cycling on tv since the 90s and while David Driffield used to irritate me, Carlton Kirby takes it to a whole new level , I do t care about drainasystems in Lman or what he had for dinner,,, I’m interested in the racing ,,, please take him off cycling and Le Mans ,,thank you

I watch all races that he comments on in silence, he rambles on with trivial info that generally has nothing to do with what we are watching.

What can they do? They can't criticise him on air. Maybe my imagination, but it seems to me that some of them do get pissed off with him.

I've no idea what US coverage is like, but he is way, way worse than anyone on English-speaking Eurosport/GCN.

This man spoils every race, constantly laughing at his own jokes, telling us how much he loves 'this'. Full of meaningless cliches. He clearly knows nothing about how professional riders ride. Talks as though they were all amateurs. Tells you what individual riders are thinking ! His opinions have nothing to do with what is happening in a race. Has he ever ridden as a professional ? No ! Why does he speed up his inanities as the race bears the finish because the faster he talks, the less he is able to make sense. Please take him off the commentary!!!

Please get rid of Carlton "UM" Kirby. My first time with "UM" GCN but I doubt I'll re-sign due "UM" to the horrible "UM" commentary by you know "UM" who. Nary a coherent thought during a 3 hour "UM" broadcast. I propose a contest to count the "UM" number of times this bore says "UM". Guarantee it's north of 250 during a routine race. "ER", "AH", "UH" also count. The Grand Prize is handing Carlton "UM" Kirby his pink slip.

I love Kirby. Way better and more astute than any American coverage.
