Get rid of Carlton Kirby

Kirby hasn't even bothered to learn how to pronounce 'Kwiatkowski' - calls him 'Kwiatovski'. Too narcissistic and lazy to bother.

The Alan Partridge of cycling coverage. I have often got so annoyed with his drivel that I have changed channel, which is a pity as generally, I like Eurovision's coverage. Excellent experts who are more than capable of anchoring the coverage. Why the hell is CK there in the first place? Suggest he takes his anchor and jumps into the Seine. Smug, pompous buffoon.

Think you might have the wrong person, as Kirby is fanatically nationalistic. Also, Kirby almost never pronounces something properly - Hatch does. Why would you not use local pronunciations? Why pronounce something wrongly? Do you think non-British commentators should pronounce 'Worcester' as 'War-sess-ter'?

A genuine detractor from the level of enjoyment in watching GCN/Eurosport coverage. Undeniably less knowledgeable than other lead commentators on the platform. Often outright incorrect with his comments and commonly opts to offer up a rambling ‘joke’ or pun rather than follow the race (specifically lack of names of riders making moves). Overall I’m a big fan of the platform and think the coverage is comprehensive, insightful and hits the right tone of outright race coverage and light hearted parallel discussion.

His rambling and stuttering are annoying as his his love of praising some cyclists but completely ignoring the British contestants to the extent that some are never mentioned. When he is commentating to an English speaking audience why does he insist on using the local pronunciations?

Please would love to hear from someone that thinks this guy is a good commentator . This person is so so poor what is his problem. I can't watch TDF if he is on. What other sport would you have to refuse to watch because of a commentator. None . Kirby loves himself so much and loves all the drivel . Why do some people like him I'm baffled

Screaming like an idiot at the end of every stage. Repeating the same stupid expressions endlessly.

Stage 7 of the TdF – ~500m to go. Kirby: ‘This is going to be… As we predicted… Will it be…? Oh, I’m not quite so sure.’ Even by his standards, this was terrible. Later, he thinks that Cavendish is going to win and, of course, he makes it all about himself: ‘I can’t believe it! I cannot believe it!’ he literally screams. Pathetic. So desperate to put himself into an historic moment.

Drives me mad.

It's literally a world's difference to Rob. Just have one of the experts take his spot. Dan, Adam, or Mat would do a better job.

Love gcn+ can't stand Carlton Kirby

I can no longer watch Eurosport/GCN because of Carlton's drivel. He's the worst sports commentator on television. No analysis, nothing interesting to say. Just a stream of consciousness that completely takes away from the enjoyment of the sport I love. Please, please replace him

I have to turn it down when he's on. He's just not very good at all.

I have to turn the volume down - doesn't commentate and just makes noise.

Kirby is a truly terrible ‘commentator’. His ridiculous anecdotes, rambling nonsense and lack of specific knowledge of the sport he is supposedly an expert in makes the coverage, when he’s on, unwatchable. In this year’s Tour so far I’ve watched Discovery+ until he’s on and then turned over to ITV4’s coverage. It’s almost physically painful to listen to him.

He is pathetic. Can’t bear how he laughs at his own jokes.
