as a native English speaker and GCN subscriber, I was excited to be able to watch in English. Luckily I speak German as well....I switched back to the German feed. I must say I enjoyed the commentary from Dan, Matt and Sean.

I'm sure I signed this a couple of years ago - BUT HE'S STILL THERE!!!! he is just a relic from days gone by. Let him drivel on to the folks in the old folks home and not drivel on to all of us who would otherwise enjoy Eurosport's cycling coverage. (And please loose bumbling Sean Kelly as well).

Today he could be heard laughing at his own comedy genius after saying, 'Big squeals on the brakes, as we talk about Uijtdebroeks', pronouncing the last six letters as 'brakes'. Which, unsurprisingly, is not how it's pronounced. But never let the facts get in the way of something which could never even remotely be described as a joke, let alone a good one. He seems to have no sense of embarrassment or shame.

Please, please, please save us from the diarrhea that gushes from this man's mouth. It is embarrassing to listen to his colleagues correcting him and trying to add some quality to their time together. Phrases he is so proud of he repeats endlessly regardless of their relevance. Some of us will be pleased when he has left all his matches scattered across the road and he is looking for a light.

Completely agree, no or desultory commentary on the places of interest along the route, obsessed with himself, his past and his own view of what is going to happen or is happening, his view that he us hilarious is kit one I share. Eurosport has several commentators who are much better.

The stage Remco lost all the time, he was talking about him in such hushed mournful tones, repeatedly! I thought we were at the bloodys queens funeral again.

This really pisses me off, at least once a commentary session.

This is such a good point and something I have thought a lot about. However when one pays for a service and the service isn't of the quality they expect then it is right to complain and ask for improvement.

Carlton is nothing more than an old eccentric dribbling over a bike race and his selected favorites, then rambling out loud through his bizarre and often irrelevant thought process! More than 2000 of us signed now, keep @ eurosport and GCN, make sure they are aware of the numbers on this petition. I have also submitted a complaint via their support service.

For the love of God, please remove this clown and his ridiculous, irrelevant rambling from the airwaves….

Yeah, really spoils coverage. On the whole GCN/Eurosport cycling coverage is poor though. They need to learn from Channel 4 coverage of TDF, their coverage is awesome

Yeah, it could be that 2,164 people are wrong, and you're right. When I started this incredibly niche petition - about a cycling commentator - I never thought I'd get 100 signatures. That 1,650 people have taken the time to comment (over 99% of them negatively) on Kirby shows just how unpopular he is. Also, 'nothing better to do'? You commented: that's what others have done.

He is unable to do the most basic important part of his job, knowing what is happening and telling viewers. It's hours of inane rambling.

Today in the Vuelta when Nico Denz was struggling to hang on to the breakaway on a climb led by Evenepoel, Kirby wondered why Kamna didn’t drop back to help his teammate! (To which Robbie McEwen simply replied - Kamna would get dropped from the break too.) Profound stupidity from somebody who seems to learn nothing from watching hundreds of races. Amazing.

Rambling commentary. Stuttering, "um er" every sentence, doesn't seem to think before he speaks. The most irritating commentating I have heard in any sport. Listen to David Millar and Ned Boulting commentating on the Tour de France, for quality, informative commentary. A commentator knows when not to say anything.

I’m either turning the sound down or shouting at him to “shut the f**k up”. I’m getting as bad as my grandad.

His “commentary” is a stream of drivel, he laughs at his own completely unfunny remarks and is sometimes astonishingly offensive. It’s about the cycling not about him.
