Peterborough definitely needs speedway and the showground, it's no good having all these houses if there is nothing for people to do! I really miss the racing and the social side to speedway. There's also plans for big housing developments in Chesterton, Sibson & Elton. Our lovely villages are being swamped with unwanted houses & traffic.

All big business cares about is making money not what the people want and this council is just the same it Does not want to know what we want. I just want to deal what they want to do. Nothing unusual this day in age.

This Showground is not only a vital asset to Peterborough and it's citizens, but to the whole of East Anglia.
The problems started when planners allowed housing developments on the access points to the Showground. What will happen if further housing developments are allowed on this site and the residents complain of traffic noise on the A1, will they close the road? No of course not.
Keep the Showground open and provide separate access roads to the existing housing.
This is an asset that really cannot be lost.

Peterborough speedway has been part of my life for fifty years
The showground should be reinstated as it brings a great deal of financial benefit to the city and local businesses. Popular events and the previous speedway meetings held at the show ground were attended by national and international companies alike.

Been supporting the panthers for over 50 years and it has been in my family blood…my daughter was Miss Peterborough Speedway…my son attended as did my brother who met his wife at the speedway…need this blood to keep flowing….

I was brought going to speedway here many good memories of family time and in my opinion the best track in England as a spectator don’t know about riding there but I love this place
