Where are the petitions to sign for the victims of his prior convictions?

Previous criminal conviction including assault, break and enter, robbery, unlawful confinement and uttering threats...and now it's 'normal' for kids to carry around weapons? Those two factors alone make it easy not to sign your petition, but you have my condolences as a family loss of any nature is a sad situation.

He probably didn't even realize what was going on. Lots of people freeze up when yelled at and a situation seems unreal. The stresses, perceptions, judgement and length of local tenure of the officer needs examining; lets not just assume mental fault of the victim. There was an interaction here; and it seems most of the action was performed by police. Why shoot him again when he was more or less shot once and immobilized? What video were they playing in their heads? This local home boy was probably just stunned and confused by the force of the commands; not realizing how he was perceived. We need more money put into our mental health services, more workers and a hospital emergency department staffed for emergencies, not long waits.

Praying for you and your family. James easily could have been holding a knife in self defense and seen the police as there to protect him or been unaware of their intentions to shoot if he was heavily intoxicated or not made extremely aware they were that serious. Although I never knew James may he rest in peace. It is a sad tragedy it happened and I don't want to see these cops get away with firing on or killing anyone without extreme cause and get away with it. Absolutely ridiculous!

The officers had other methods of detaining the kid other than shooting their guns first and asking questions later. The kid had a knife in a gun fight and was out manned to boot. These R.C.M.P members are the very same people who we trust to protect us and lately it seems the only protection we need is from them. They've become drunk with power all over North America and you see police brutality more and more everyday. Pretty soon people will start taking the law into their own hands and avoids the cops, at least the majority of assaults and domestic disputes don't end up with death or severe acts of brutality. Just a couple weeks ago a 9 year old was shot and killed by police, this shit has to get under control !!!

Out manned with no gun clearly the R.C.M.P had other options of taking the kid down other than shooting him first regardless of how many times they told him to drop the knife ... These people have sworn in to protect us

Outrageous behavior by the authorities. Death is not a necessary punishment for someone who needs HELP.

I am so upset with this injustice and can not believe our beautifull peacefull town and the officers who are there to protect have murdered this dear man .He was not armed with a knife when shot the 1st time and because he tried to get up was then riddled with more bullets.he was helpless after the 1st shot ,could two or more officers not have handcuffed him and got him to the Hospital ,he would still be here with his dear family. Its very clear that the both officers are to blame for his murder and I pray for justice for this man and his family. God Bless you James and family.Your in my prayers
