From November 2015 - "A few weeks ago we found out our daughter has a tumor located near her brain in or on her pituitary gland. The tumor has been there for many years, but about eight months ago it grew large enough to damage her gland creating symptoms and a number of problems. A recent MRI showed bleeding in the brain, around the tumor and pituitary gland, which landed her in ICU at the hospital. As the pituitary gland is the leader of all the glands and controls all the hormones, her prolactin levels, estrogen levels, thyroid gland, cholesterol and adrenal glands are all being affected. Her vision is also at risk due to the size and placement of the tumor which is touching her optic nerve. To lead a normal life in the future and to stop any impending vision loss or symptoms the tumor needs to be surgically removed, medication and radiation are not and option. "
Since then Mia has undergone surgery and while they were told that they got all of the tumor, they are now finding out that they did not and are now facing this whole process again.
The bills are starting to roll in and you can only imagine how much a neurosurgeon charges. That being said, anything we can do for them will help.

Let Mia graduate. This is insane. She should not be held back for something that clearly is out of her control medically. Her senior year is already tough enough- her case should be an exeption to whatever the current requirements are for graduation.
