In the summer of 2014, I moved to Buffalo from Depew. I didn't take any tests or anything so I ended up going to McKinley. That October, I took a test for City Honors. It was sort of like an IQ test with cognitive thinking skills and the like. Fast forward to February. Hands shaking, I open up a letter from the Education department. (See photograph) it says "Congrats! You've been accepted to CHS for the 2015-2016 school year for grade 10! I was ecstatic. I had the grades and the thinking level to go to one of the best schools in the nation. Fast forward another 2 months. I get a letter from Education dept. "Please call us at xxx-xxx-xxx." Hmmm, what could it be? My father calls. They say my acceptance was a mistake. Many tears and phone calls later, they still refuse to accept me, even though my grades are good enough to get in. No matter what they still refuse and say it was all an accident. Honestly, I went through a lot to get accepted and now they are denying me a right to a challenging and engaging curriculum with peers that are able to compete with me, and clubs and activities not to mention sports that are suited to me. So my goal is to get enough of a case to bring this to the attention of the higher-ups. Help me?

I have been reading the comments you all leave and the stories are truly overwhelming. It feels surreal that so many people are behind me when I honestly just expected to be fighting this alone.

This is an unconscionable action for City Honors to exhibit. City Honors needs to be accountable for its actions and furthermore needs to HONOR the commitments it has made. Duane S Preston
The fact that Siera is qualified for City Honors is not disputed by anyone. The school accepted her based on her grades and then decided they didn't have a spot for her. That is cruel to this deserving young lady who is working hard to better herself.
There should be no reason that my Great niece should be denied to attend this school. If she was accepted, She's in. Go to the media. Good luck honey.
Siera deserves to challenged academically and given an opportunity to showcase her abilities. As much as I would regret losing her in my horticulture shop I know she can perform anywhere.
If this young lady has the grades, the eagerness to attend this school and you have already accepted her you must then honor your commitment to add her to your student body. I would expect no less of a distinguished and honorable school as yours to do the right thing. Thank you.

Siera truly deserves to go to this school, for the short time I knew her she was a great student at depew. I hope you get in!
