He has dedicated over 20 years to the WDHS Athletics program and it's about time we show him just how much his support and dedication has meant to all of us over the years. I was just checking the counter and we are honestly getting so near that hundred mark that my hands are shaking a bit typing this. If you know anyone who played for Johnny or just sat in the bleachers during his games please tell them to jump on this right now before the committee meets again.

The story of WDHS athletics cannot be told without mention of Johnny Newman. He's as deserving as anyone who has ever worn the WD on their jersey.
As a coach in Mauston, I always see Johnny at athletic functions. He always greets you with a smile and you can tell he loves WDHS and its athletes. 20 years of service/dedication is amazing. Get him in the Hall of Fame!
Johnny was manager for both baseball and basketball when my son Zach played! He was always so kind and caring and supportive! One of the finest men I know!
I recall sitting in the bleachers with the student section chanting Johnny Newman during basketball games while he cleaned a slippery spot on the court, or ran for more water. The man is a WDHS legend spanning multiple generations. Why isn't he in the Hall of Fame yet?
I'm sure I speak for other Wisconsin Dells Athlete's when I say that while our coaches had an important impact on our live, meeting a man so selfless, so humble, and so committed to our sports teams was a true blessing. Inducting him into the WDHS Hall of Fame I feel is the least we can do for all of the sacrifice he has made for WDHS. We Are WD!

I am signing this not just as myself, but on behalf of the entire Baraboo Legion Baseball program. Newms is one of the nicest people I have dealt with in my short coaching career. He truly bleeds WD blue and deserves as much as the next person.
