I'm appalled at these events. This detective is supposed to PROTECT the public, not bully the public! You can tell he was angry, probably hit his detective ego being told "no", and used that anger to physically assault a person, a NURSEof all people, for crying out loud. A nurse who was professional, explained it to him, was respectful, and patient! The mutual respect and professional courtesy between nurses/medical team and law enforcement was thrown to crap by this sorry excuse of a detective! Who knows how many people he has bullied and assaultednover his career. Regardless, this is assault, this is unacceptable, this is abuse of power, this is a crime if he is not removed from the force.

Unfortunately the officer got emotionally affected when the guy on the phone told him he was making a big mistake. His behavior indicates deep seated insecurities and since he has a badge he obviously feels he can "man handle" an innocent woman trying to do her job. I wonder how he has handled suspected criminals who are defying him? I think he needs to find another job where if he commits these type of actions he will be the one being arrested. So ironic that the guy in charge of protecting and serving is the bully. He should be ashamed and seek help.

As a nurse I am both disheartened and disgusted by the extremely unacceptable behavior of this officer. If he behaves like this towards a non-threatening citizen who had broken no law, and was being respectful in explaining why she did not have to comply with his request, what does he do to real criminals. This ego driven behavior and attitude is what is tarnishing the reputation of law enforcement across the nation. Most officers are not this way, but aren't you equal at fault if you witness this and do nothing? Please take a stance and help set a standard that while police officers are tasked with upholding the law, the are not above the law and certainly are not the law itself.

This man should be thrown in jail. He is lucky his wife was not treated the way he treated this nurse. He is a disgrace. His conduct was disgusting. Instead of these cops going on power trips they should be trained on knowing proper protocols. He appears to be extremely ignorant to rules and regulations and unfit for his job. Actions must be taken against this sorry excuse for a man. Justice must be served on behalf of all the nurses that help save lives everyday. This man is a vile discusting piece of crap.

As a nurse myself, we hold an oath just as police officers do. We pledge to do no harm to our patients and we have a license to protect while we advocate for them. We would do the very same if an officer was brought into our care. Watching this nurse, clarify protocol, professionally explain the policy, all the while having her supervisor on the phone, only to be quite aggressively pulled out of the er and handcuffed is disgusting. And to think this officer is now on paid administrative leave, aka vacation, is only adding further insult to this nurse, as well as all nurses. If I am not mistaken, he in fact broke the law by assulting this nurse and unlawful arrest and he should be handcuffed and charged himself..you should be appalled to not hold him accountable. In the meantime, even while this officer is free to roam about and possibly cause further havoc, if he were in an accident or hurt while on duty, you can be assured that this very same nurse would most definitely provide the upmost care for him as a patient. How unfortunate that he managed to continue to muddy the waters for other good and decent officers who may be singled out because of this guy's apparent inability to hear the word NO!
