This Job requires composure and complex thinking 100% of the time. If you can't handle that which clearly not you nor your team did so here, step off the JOB.

How can we feel safe and comfortable knowing someone like that is knowingly absusing powers?

What makes these two cops think they have the right to usurp laws set by the supreme Court?

I normally support law enforcement officers by default. They have a tough job and they're only human. This guy has an anger problem though and shouldn't be allowed any authority whatsoever. Not only was she in the right, but she is a law abiding citizen, small woman, in a public professional setting, and he lost his temper and arrested her violently. Why she hasn't sued I have no idea. Fire this person and charge him with assault.

I am deeply disturbed but what I witnessed on the body camera footage of this incident .. i'll be honest in most cases I do seem to give benefit of doubt towards the law-enforcement side, but I absolutely cannot condone this incident.. as this was completely an unlawful arrest, I consider his actions to only be assault, but false imprisonment as well when he placed her in the car against her will.. I also find his comments equally disturbing regarding only bringing transit patients to the hospital in the future.. Salt lake city police need to send a strong message to the community that this is not the behavior they expect to see all of their officers, by taking strong action against not only the officer who committed this crime, but those who participated as well in different aspects of the incident.

The fact that the nurse understood the law better than Det. Jeff Payne should tell you that he needs to be reassigned or look for a new vocation.

Ignorance to the law is no excuse. Its what we are told and its what applies here. He needs to have no authority over anyone ever again.

I would like to see him give the nurse a public apology in person, be restricted from working with the public (desk job) and in no position of authority over anybody. His treatment of the nurse and his (transient) comments demonstrate he is not professional enough to work with the public.
