After having completed almost a third of the course of astronomy it has been cancelled and removed form the curriculum. This of course means that we have wasted a term of school on learning a subject in which all of those participating in are loving and enjoying.

The response to this campaign has been overwhelming and it shows that I am not alone in feeling this loss. It is exhausting to fight for a class that should never have been cut but seeing this level of support keeps me going.

Didn't have the chance to do this in my day, but would have loved to. Cancelling after a third of the course is just insane!!

As an educator it really saddens me to hear children being treated like this. What has happened to 'Student Voice' this just shows that those making this decision do not allow students to be heard.

This period of education is the time where students are working out what they enjoy, and where they want to take their future prospects... why deny these opportunities?

That must be unbelievably frustrating

disgusted that a school can play with a child's education when they should be encouraging talent.

Astronomy. Such a wonderful subject. We are breeding a nation of philosophers and personal trainers. Where are the future at robust and astronomers going to come from? We need to encourage kids who are interested in this subject because they are in a minority and it takes brains and patience to study this subject, patience is something the younger generation lack. Keep this subject going!!!!
