Gentrification is a term to describe arrival of wealthier people (Middle And First Class) in a existing Urban district. In a result there's an increase in rent and property values. This can cause those in that community who are lower class to be displaced. Despite the positive affects of gentrification highly benefit a community but can be done with the negative affects on it. We have made this petition to bring awareness to local government so we slow/stop the negative affects of gentrification.

I honestly cannot believe how far this has moved lately and it makes my brain spin thinking about all the people who actually care about these neighborhoods. It feels like the tide is finally turning and maybe just maybe the city council will actually listen when we show them all this support.

Local gov needs to wake up and actually protect the people who built this city instead of just catering to developers.
STOP PUSHING US OUT. this was a community long before the expensive coffee shops arrived.
im sick of seeing my neighbors forced out of their own homes. enough is enough.
way too expensive now. its not even the same place anymore.
it is getting ridiculous. rent is sky high and all the local spots are closing down for luxury apartments nobody around here can afford anyway.

My family has lived in this neighborhood for 3 decades and now we are seeing our rent hike up every single year. Where are we supposed to go?
