Gene is awesome and deserves to be recognized by the Country Music Hall of Fame for sure! My father passed away on December 23, 2014. Shortly after that I was at my parents' house helping my Mom do some work out in the yard. We had cranked up Willie's Roadhouse on the XM Radio that my Dad kept in the garage and while we were listening. A song "Farewell Party" was played and it brought both of us to tears! Gene sure does have a way with being able to tell a story to a person's heart! There are a ton of other great songs that he does and but that one is very high on my list of favorites. Thus the reason I am signing this petition. Hopefully this petition will fill up fast!

Not only does Gene have one of the greatest voices in country music, he has a ton of great songs. You all need to get every Gene Watsin album you can. His latest are all on mom and pop labels and have not been heard by most people. My favorite song is old porch swing. So full of memories and awesome steel guitar like most of his songs. Probably the greatest line in country music history is in the song the coast of Texas. Listen to it on YouTube. The line right after I would probably embarrass you...shows just how hardcore country he is. Very funny line. He has awesome songs like flowers, booked in heaven, class reunion and others that most people have never heard that should be number one hits. A true shame. Gene is absolutely long overdue for the hall of fame. Let's get him in there!
