Thank you for the initiative, GAT. The importance of the inclusion of a gender perspective is totally neglected, I think many fellows, both men and women of every capacity, do not even consider or they ignore such necessity.

UNSCR1325 is now 15 years old. It was adopted unanimously in October 2000, after recalling resolutions 1261 (1999), 1265 (1999), 1296 (2000), and 1314 (2000). The resolution on women, peace and security acknowledges the disproportionate and unique impact of armed conflict on women and girls. It calls for the adoption of a gender perspective to consider the special needs of women and girls during conflict, repatriation and resettlement, rehabilitation, reintegration and post-conflict reconstruction.
WHY IS IT NOT BEING IMPLEMENTED -WHY IS IT MORE HONOURED IN THE BREACH THAN THE RESOLUTION?

The gender perspective constitutes a very essential component of a holistic approach to the negotiations. This declaration is a long awaited effort towards its realization.
