I completely agree with all the other parents, looking at the current scenario we request the school to reduce the fee.

I have to pay 5k DHS every month additional for a tutor for my child. Believe it should be deducted from my fee.

We back paying the teachers in full, but at least share with parents the savings from not utilizing the facilities and premises for the 3rd term

Absolutely unreasonable behavior from a reputed group like this. I am sure none of the parents are asking for a full fee waiver but a reasonable reduction is fair

GEMS schools cannot expect parents who are so far not affected financially to have no choice but fund those who have unfortunately been affected. This should be voluntary where parents can choose either to receive a partial refund or contribute to fund other affected students' fees.
Whatever the school savesin operational costs due to closure of the school facilities should be refunded across the board to all parents, as all parents and students are affected and the current online learning is nowhere near the same standard as live face to face in class learning. Live teaching is limited to just 1 or 2 zoom sessions a week, which does not justify the fees paid.
It is unfair that the school demands to see proof of income loss which gives them an insight into parents' income and financial details. Will the school be willing to share with us their P&L sheets and show how much they make each year.
Charity that GEMs wish to do via the Varkey foundation which is a stand-alone organization is a separate topic and not related specifically to the school, and money for this should be directly funded and not through fees received from parents. Parents who will still struggle to pay fees due to job/income loss should be encouraged to reach out to the foundation directly for aid with evidence of loss of income and not through the school.

This kind of adamant, selfish attitude of this for- profit organisation, in these troubling times, only tars their company's image.Parents are burdened with helping kids for online learning. The school has earned a lot of profits for many years. Its time now they payback to the community.
