First of all the distance learning is really not where a child can learn independently. Secondly, it takes alot of parents time as well. Families where parents are working from home, we should get some relief in the fee as well.

The school consider fees reduction for those who lost their jobs because of Covid-19, what about the people who will lose their jobs because of distance learning? If we survived Coivd-19, I will search for a school which paid attention to parents concerns.

GEMS should share financial burden instead of transfering it all to parents who are under pressure monitoring kids who should be at their premises during the learning hours:
[1] Teacher gives kid work to do and parent has to monitor and help the kid. My opinion is parent puts 60% effort against teacher's 40%; a primary school kid can't be expected to independently participate online.
[2] Electricity bill for GEMS is significantly reduced as A/C's are NOT used.
[3] GEMS is not paying costs for cleaning, toilet paper, water, etc. These costs were tansferrred to parents.
[4] Parents have to foot bill for internet connectivity. Some parents were even forced to buy or upgrade kid's devices to support eLearning.
In summary, the parent is footing increased costs due to eLearning and spends more time helping the kid to do the work that teachers should have been doing. Surely a 50% school fees cut is reasonable as costs are significantly reduced and school cant be thinking of making profits at such a time. I believe the organisation may have some sort of insurance which they can turn to. GEMS as a for-profit organisation should also be able to dig into their retained earnings from previous years should the situation get to that which I greatly doubt!

Please reduce your fees , its not fair to charge full amount any yet your premises are closed. Obviously you are not having other cost eg cleaning, assistant teacher sevices, front office costs. Bea with us parents we are workking with the children all day ourselves.

Dear Sir,
Our company as decided to deduct 25% of our salaries due to the current market situation which affected our monthly budget. Hence you are kindly requested to reduce the school fee proportionately to maintain our budget proportionate to the salary deduction we received.
