A reduction in the school fee will be a huge relief for us parents who are working from home on top of having to monitor the kids full time while they are on their devices. Another alternative would be to give the two months summer vacation now and to continue classes in June or even July, by which time hopefully, the situation will be under control.
Most of the companies are cutting down the salaries in half and so many people have already lost their jobs. Hats off to the teachers who are trying their best to work things out but we parents are putting is just as much of not more effort on top of everything else. Considering the fee for Gems Modern Academy is one of the highest among the Indian Schools, at least a 50% discount is needed to even make an impact on the financial situation for us parents who do not have company sponsorship for the school fees.

Due to current situation with Corona Virus my employer has requested me to take unpaid leave for 5 months which resulted me not having any income hence I would not be able to pay the school tuition fees

Rationale is simple. Parents are facing a dire financial crunch. Schools cannot continue to act as businesses during these times and need to show commitment towards students and live upto what they teach. They need demonstrate empathy and commitment to the community. They should pass on the savings in expenses and have significantly reduced profit margins during these times to share some burden with the parents.

We are self employed parents running own business in Oil and Gas equipment supply market. The oil price crash has directly impacted our business with forecasted revenues declining and whilst we are working from home to mitigate this risk and simultaneously attending to our children to support them through the e-learning programme, it would be highly appreciated if the school can provide the requested subsidized fees for the third term.

Schools need to provide more training to the teachers on the system used and how to conduct and deliver the education effectively and professionally. Most of the teachers aren't ready yet and they make the quality of education the worst.

Apart from the current socio economic situation.. My company i.e., UAE Exchange is currently in a turmoil. And I am not sure if my services would be required hence requesting if our petition can or we may have to withdraw our child.

At current reduction in earnings in all sectors it is important that schools reduce their tution fees. GEMS is one of the most expensive school in Dubai. If the situation does not improve and school fees are not reduced many parents including myself will have to change school or move back to India.
