Gary's Law is a bill proposal to change the way the law regards our pets. Currently under Florida law, our family pet is just a piece of property ; a thing, nothing more. If someone injures or kills your beloved pet, the wrongdoer is responsible for nothing more than the lower cost of replacement value. Consequently, if you have a rescue pet, or an older pet, they are legally worth $10. That's just offensive. There is no meaningful deterrent for negligence or gross negligence. This includes if your veterinarian, groomer, or boarder has harmed or killed your pet. The law needs to change. Our pets have no voice. Our pets would give their lives for their families. Let's speak up for them. Gary's Law is currently in bill drafting with Senator Jeremy Ring. We need support to get this law passed.

pets truly ARE family! They must have rights. They must be respected. They must be loved and everybody that hurt animal MUST be punished. Thank you Dawn for your Gary's law <3
Its about time someone is trying to get this done! I've been telling people to contact the folks in office and ask for this! People can be punished for abusing animals but they're still not considered living being who hurt and feel. They're only considered property! This needs to change NOW!
Please keep our pets safe they are family even better they have no voice so we are it .thank you.
In many cases, pets are often way better than family. My pet has never made me cry - my pet has only ever comforted me, Help the furbabies!!!

LONG LONG OVERDUE. WE LOVE OUR PETS AS FAMILY, WE SPEND ON THEIR EVERYDAY NEEDS AS FAMILY, WE SPEND MILLIONS ON THEIR HEALTHCARE, OUT OF POCKET AND UNABLE TO CLAIM FOR ANY OF IT. IT'S TIME THAT WE MAY AT LEAST BE ABLE TO PROTECT THEM. MY PREVIOUS VET WAS DRUNK WHEN HE OPERATED ON MY DOG AND KILLED HIM AND I WAS UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING., HIS NAME WAS LUCKY, HE MADE ME THE LUCKY ONE, HE RESCUED ME! NOW HE IS GONE. THIS LAW IS LONG OVER DUE.
