Currently Merck (the creators of Gardasil) are pushing our government to make Gardasil a MANDATORY shot for all women before reaching the sixth grade. This is not a justified movement and should be stopped in its tracks. The overall goal of this petition is to stop the HPV vaccine Gardasil to be a parent and child\'s choice instead of it being mandated by state or federal government. Just listen to the commercial, it tells you that Gardasil MAY help protect you from ONE of the types of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) that MIGHT cause 70% cervical cancer. They even say it might not FULLY PROTECT EVERYONE. It does not prevent all types of cervical cancer. They have not proven that it DOES protect you at all, that is why they say it "helps" protect against HPV. If you do a small amount of research, you will find that cervical cancer is easily treated when caught in its early stages. If you just go in for your routine cancer screenings(even the commercial said you should do this, even with the shot) you can treat the cancer early on and be just fine. Texas has already jumped on Merck\'s train. Gardasil is an unproven vaccine that should not be mandated. Sign this petition and make getting this shot your choice!
