Its a long walk from Lea Road to the center of Gainsborough, with a station slap bang in the middle of the town you would have thought the penny would have dropped now.

My family live in Gainsborough and say not many people know where Central station is as there is a lack of signage to the station.

When they improved the line for freight in 2006/7 we got them to put timetables, shelters and lighting on the platforms but nothing has been done since.

If I am visiting family in Gainsborough then I travel up in the car as Lea Road is to much of a walk, however if a better rail service was to run to Gainsborough Central then I would travel up from Nottinghamshire by train.

At least money has been found in West Yorkshire PTE budget to make Kirkgate presentable. Unfortunately Lincolnshire County Council do not acknowledge the existence of Gainsborough Central and the Brigg Line in their ten year Transport Plan published last year.

Let's hope something is done with the Sunday Service on the Lincoln to Sheffield line, first train out of Lincoln is 1515 on a Sunday afternoon !

I live in Brigg and would usd the train to take my kids to cleethorpes rather than drive if it was a better service

Despite this action plan been for Gainsborough I can honestly say that the residents of Brigg fully support this plan, the line from Gainsborough Central to Brigg has not had a weekday service since the early 1990's, to be honest we are all suffering because of this.

Gainsborough has for far too long been the Cinderella of North Lincolnshire's rail network. Both of the town's stations do nothing to encourage rail usage. Good luck with the plans.

It is shocking that this line has gone all the way since 1993 without a 6 day a week service, communities have been cut off with people's livelyhoods on the line, this railway line only requires a limited service maybe a 2 hourly one, the people behind this are not asking the world but just trying to make a difference to the communities on this railway line.

Greatly support a wekday service I am a regular user of the saturday train getting off a Brigg to visit realtives in Hibaldstow why not reopen Hibaldstow station it is a fast growing village? I am sure Brigg & Gainsborugh economies would be improved by daily services. How about contacting trains at Retford for travel to London and back from London?

Gainsborough and especially Brigg, deserve a much better rail service. I am very pleased to see that the Council are now backing this through the rail action plan.
