Another Bank Holiday Monday looms and yet Northern Rail do not run train to Cleethorpes on this line, sadly it's Car 1 Train 0

One has to ask what the local town council are doing about promoting train travel to and from Gainsborough, it is a well know fact that it is very hard to located Central station if your from out of town so to speak.

Something has to be done with this Cleethorpes service from Northern, the timetable has no benefit to anyone in its present form.

Having a good rail link to the town centre is vital in encouraging future enterprise and aiding the regeneration of Gainsborough.

Greetings and best wishes from the TransWilts line in Wiltshire. With a lot of hard work, (including petitions, reports, surveys, and more) we have recently secured our first viable / appropriate service for years. With a thorough, well researched case (in all aspects) it can be done. And it can work ... our passenger numbers are growing nicely. Good luck!

Large clanger dropped by Northern Rail, On a Bank Holiday people want to travel to the seaside but no trains run on the Brigg line to Cleethorpes.

The logic is to prove a service to a better located station in Gainsborough, and restore a proper service to stations that only have a few trains on Saturday.

Instead of Narrative, try Background of the Problem and Purpose / Objects of our Campaign, then short list.
Weekday services abandoned - date / reasons
Inconvenience / how many people at Brigg and Kirton Lindsey 'Abandoned'
Objects: Restore at least a basic service to Retford and Sheffield - minimum of 5 trains.
Medium term; 2-hourly daytime services, hourly peaks.
Evaluate restoration of services beyond Barnetby to deliver 2-way flow, 'Reverse Peak' towards Grimsby.
Evaluate stock requirements.
Support and 'Officialdom'
MP's support, Publish favourable letters on website.
Local Authority Plans and objects. Strong support if County Council in favour, Polite constructive criticism if not. Lobby Councillors.
It can work, London Overground emerged out of a series of pamphlets and papers from lobby groups, Railfuture then RDS, gave some cash for a campaign. Selective lobbying as THE new GLA WAS formed in 2000, eventually in 2007 Silverlink Metro became London Overground, look at the London Overground entry in Wikipedia, a rags to riches (almost) job!

A good effort, but unless one knew the problem of a railway that runs Saturdays Only service, it is not easy to grasp your theme. Instead of Narrative, try Background of the Problem and Purpose / Objects of our Campaign, then short list.
