I have to agree with the comment at the bottom from Edward Tibenham, the ticket pricing on the Brigg line is very poor and needs to be reviewed by Northern Rail a.s.a.p

I will be taking the family to Cleethorpes later today from Reford to Cleethorpes via this line, the price is very off putting and I am surprised Northern do not do any offers for families on this line, with the six week holidays coming up we are also surprised that Northern do not run more trains on this line to the seaside.

I wish you all the best but have to ask do you have the local council's on your side, the reason I ask is I went to visit friends in Brigg over the weekend, no signs to the station and no timetable information in the town, from my view it looks like they are ashamed to promote the railway ?

An improvement is needed first to the Saturday Services as the first train to Sheffield is far to late, apart from Kirton Lindsey the Saturday Only stations of Brigg and Gainsborough Central look a right state, these need to be improved first to attract people to come back by train.

Yes we must have improved services. Perhaps start by promoting the current Saturdays-only service with better fares. £7.70 Brigg to Gainsborough RTN or £18.70 Gainsborough to Cleethorpes RTN is not exactly encouraging. Join me on JULY 5th for a linear 'railway walk' 8.5 miles from Kirton Lindsey to Blyton (bus opt out there) or continue another 6 miles into Gainsborough. Depart Gainsborough Central at 08.58.

The case for reopening is obvious. The most useful train servi9ce would be extension of the Nottingham-Worksop service to Retford and Gainsborough Central, extended to Brigg etc as a second stage.

It is ludicrous that this 'Central' access is not utilised, especially regarding the proposed growth of the town. It would be a great assett.

Ive noticed the line is not promoted very well, there seems to be very little about the line in tourists guides or business along the line promoting the services

I would love to see Gainsborough Central Station open again and have trains running regularly from Sheffield to Cleethorpes. I'm sure it would bring more visitors, tourist and business, into the town.

Northern Rail would love to run a bank holidays service but Network Rail who own and operate the track and signals refuse to open the signal boxes for the mornings of bank holidays. They do open after 2pm. This is the sort of nonsense we have to fight.
