This seems to be an opportunistic acquisition of a piece of property rather than a thought out placentment of a facility to do good.

I say NO to a Drug, Alcohol Assiction rehab center. It would change the character of our hamlet.

I urge the School Board Comity to consider the ultimate use/ purpose of a school building witch tax payer have share tax responsibility off and care to enjoy has a living, thriving community entity. This building is a anchor in our small town landscape, it must reflect it's people.

a rehab place in a small hamlet seems like it would be bad for local businesses and tax payers

a rehab right across the street from a bar?!? There are so many better ways to make use of that building. Dealing with the folks from the home is enough of a nusense, we dont need more zombies around town.

Please do not allow the treatment center to go forward at this location - it will strike at the heart of Narrowsburg.

This is a very bad idea. A tiny town cannot absorb a rehab center right in the center.

I think the Narrowsburg school should be in local hands benefitting the community. Narrowsburg has become a beautiful, thriving town with so much to offer. Please, let's keep it growing in the community spirit that has brought it this far!

You are confused about the issue. Nobody here is discussing or interested in the merits of rehab centers. As a community we do not want a rehab center in our middle. Not only there is no benefit to having one, but it will be harmful to the well-being of residents, businesses, tourism and property values.

No rehab in the middle of town

I actually did not intend to upvote this. I think this is the wrong argument. Although a rehab center would be beneficial, there could be a better location, and without sacrificing a potentially awesome community spot.

As a community we need to commit to preserving the town as a welcome and natural haven that will bring visitors and business to our town.

I am disturbed by the comment that a rehab center wouldn't benefit your community. I think this is extremely shortsighted and narrowminded. HOWEVER, the location IS important - and the restoration and usage of our historic spaces are what makes our communities shine. Although I think rehab centers can be important, could we find a better location for such a thing? In the middle of our towns should be spaces that everyone can access, spaces that can be utilized for community events, education, local business. So, rehab center? sure. But put it somewhere else. Use this space for the upbuilding of the community, not unlike what Hawley and Honesdale have done.

There has to be a better plan for the use of this building. I cannot believe that the Towns elected officials are even looking at this as the best option for the town and its residents.
