Cycling BC is the provincial governing body for the sport of cycling. Its mission is to “Foster quality competition from the grass roots through to high performance levels, and encourage partnerships to grow participation in the sport of cycling.” Many in the cycling community believe that Cycling BC is not fulfilling this mandate, and its principal function has become to serve as a sports administrator, solely responsible for enforcing policy, rules, and regulations. A group of like-minded individuals, with a passion to see cycling grow and succeed in this province, has been organised to help return Cycling BC to its mission statement, and become an organization that prides itself on building the sport from the grassroots, fostering growth, supporting clubs, and being an active leader at all levels.
