Hey! I'm doing a project for school and thought it would be a good idea to raise awareness about the lack of infrastructure in Indiana's public transportation systems. The idea is to spread the word about how the company General Motors had bought out most railway systems in the U.S. in the 20th century, and basically tore them down in the name of profit. Before they had done this, only about 40% of United States citizens owned a car, and today that number is over 90%. Funding from highways and roads would be allocated to start funding public transportation in the downtown Indianapolis area to model that of Chicago's, and if the public gets behind it, I'd like to see this business grow even more!

About time someone talked about this. I spent years in Chicago and could get anywhere. Coming back to Indiana was a huge step backwards.
Living in Indy without a car is a nightmare. Everything is so spread out and the bus lines are useless. We need better options.
GAS PRICES ARE TOO HIGH. Give us a way to get to work without burning cash on a car payment and insurance every month.
Finally some common sense. The auto companies really ruined city planning back in the day and we are still paying for it.
My son goes to school downtown and struggles so much getting around. Hope this actually goes somewhere.

My commute is terrible on 465 everyday. If we had a real train system a lot of these cars would be off the road. Fix it.
