Ask the City Council to Fund the Capisic Pond Enhancement Project Now!

I love this pond.

This park is a gem that all of Portland enjoys. I have run into people there from all parts of Portland and beyond. Please keep the project on track to make it the place that all can enjoy. Thank you.

Please save Capisic Pond & Capisic Brook (Stream.) Lived on Capisic Brook in the 50's with parent living there for 40 years. Not only do I have wonderful childhood memories associated with Capisic Pond, but my daughter has them ae well from her many visits with her grandparent. Capisic Pond & Brook are an absolute jewel & with preservation, will allow future generations to make wonderful memories there too.

Capisic Pond holds a lot of fond memories. My friends and I played in the over growth and build forts in summer. Now when I'm home to visit, I talk long walks with my dog and enjoy the great amount of nature that is the pond! The neighborhood survives and succeeds on the health and care of Capisic and all its associated ecosystems.

I strongly support the Capisic Pond projecr. I'd like to see the pond of my youyth once more.

2020 will be way too late

Growing up in the forties, I remember Capisic Pond as refuge to alll sorts of wildlife. We saw beavers, muskrats, turtles [including a huge snapping turtle], all sorts of fish, frogs, birds and even a few otters. I built a mirrored viewing box that allowed me to lay and look beneath the surface. In the fifties we skated on the pond and it was like a Currier and Ives picture. I would love to see tha brought back to our community.

Please fund the Capisic Pond enhancement project.

I fully support the dredging project for Capisic Pond!

Capsic Pond is an important resource in our City. The longer we wait to preserve it, the more expensive it will be to fix the visible problems on the pond. Better to be penny wise than pound foolish.

Please bring back the Pond and the numerous bird species that once thrived there.

Please fund this project. Losing the pond to the cattails would be a great loss to wildlife and humans alike. The rate of encroachment has increased rapidly the last few years and I'm concerned that if the dredging gets delayed until 2020 they'll be no open water left.
