Basic special education at the early ages would create support for students who may be able to move forward with strategies that may decrease the need for special education support in their future. It also makes it possible for someone to specialize in the student and what helps them best to find success, and then that information can be passed on to future teachers.

Yes, I will sign - gladly! I have 4 precious nephews and nieces in Sierra Vista, Arizona. They attend a charter school with ONE special education teacher for the ENTIRE school. Staffing is critically low, yet the teachers are superlative. I absolutely stand with these teachers and school personnel for funding considerations! Thanks for sharing, Danna Palmer

With early level prevention and treatment, perhaps the funding for special education at the upper grade levels can be alleviated.

I am currently a 1st grade teacher in the special education field for students with severe disabilities. Funding is more important now than ever for our students and our programs. Please sign the petition!

delete If we had increased funding K-3, perhaps we wouldn't have such gross achievement gaps to close at the middle and high school levels as educators.

The time is now to finally plug this gap that has existed in our education funding structure. Basic K-3 students deserve more support and resources in our schools!

It is very important that we receive funding to meet the needs of our students. Hopefully funding to address the needs of Early Childhood services will be addressed soon. Thank you

Early intervention services are imperative for students with disabilities. Funding for early identification and related services is critical in helping all students get the instruction and assistance they need to be successful.
