The TOCC has been embarrassed by those supporting stealth candidates. It is time to take back our government.

Any person who supports secret candidacies is not interested in having a fair and just democracy. I would advise such a person to go live in a closed society. I hear Siberia is nice in the summer.

There are legal arguments one can make on both sides of this issue now, but citizens ultimately can change the law when it is unclear or unjust.

This is a very sensible and fair minded reform proposal.

In a democratic process, all voters should at least have the opportunity to be fully informed regardless of whether they ultimately choose to exercise that opportunity.

Let's see if the male majority listens (for the first time) to the WHOLE town rather than the 168 voters who put them in power.

We live in a democracy with free and open elections. We have the right to vote for the candidates of our choosing. No federal and state government elections are run without every voter being informed of ALL the candidates who are running. Why should the Town veer off the path of open and informed elections? The plain and simple answer is that it SHOULD NEVER DO THAT. To leave voters uninformed about who is running in every election is an outrage.

I fully agree that the Town's election code requires 7-day advance disclosure to avoid the situation like the last year's election.

I support the citizens of the Town of Chevy Chase, MD in their quest for a fully-informed electorate and open elections. What transpired for lack of this is a try at the destruction of the Democracy upon which our country was founded on and a lack of integery that is shameful.
