Unsanctioned Camping is Unsafe! Fully Fund Compassionate Intervention!

We need to maintain public health and safety AND address the needs of homeless people. We need to continue to clean up dangerous and illegal encampments, and provide homeless people with options to live in safe and sanctioned locations.

Allowing camping in public spaces -- parks, bushes by a sidewalk, under bridges, schools, etc. etc. -- removes incentive for those campers to do anything different with their lives. Get the money, spend the money, to get them in rehab, to build affordable housing, and to stop ruining the ability to walk around our city and not gag.

Seattle City Council is a joke and a disgrace. saws t doesn’t even live in Seattle. Let them Camp in her yard. Our city is the laughing stock of the nation because we have made a mess of ourselves. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Take the parks away from the people who actually fund them.

We need hold government and non-profits accountable to get people shelter and treatment.

No un-sanctioned camping in Seattle or its parks! No illegal car or RV camping in Seattle! Make the same rules apply to all. Our beautiful city is becoming an unsafe eyesore.

Would they really like folks camping on parking strips in front of their homes? Let's continue to be proactive in assisting ( NOT encouraging homelessness -as some imply ) marginal populations. the elderly and children. Sawant and O'Brien would do well by "reading" about other areas' solutions to this problem: The Netherlands, for instance plus other cities in the US.

Get a plan to get homeless out of public spaces. This city is completely overrun and unsafe. Places that used to be nice including parks not adjacent to schools are now completely inundated with homeless camps, needles, drug use, crime and unsanitary conditions. This city is turning into a disgusting dump. Look around. Drive up Greenwood Ave. Visit Carkeek, walk the interurban. Help! Enforce the laws and get thismorboslm taken care of. Quit offering enticing plans for homeless to come to Seattle and live under social programs and camp at our parks and neighborhoods. Get a plan to rehabilitate, incarcerate criminals, get drug users out of our neighborhoods. Help!

Keep funding for the Navigation teams and for cleanup of illegal camps.

Stop destroying our city. Clean it up and take care of the most vulnerable by getting them off the streets.

Lets move forward with the Navigation team since we are finally seeing some positive results. Don't allow Sawant and Obrien to derail this progress. Denice

There is a reason public health laws were passed—to protect public health. That should also be the FIRST obligation of city government. Unlawful encampments are hazardous to everyone’s health.

I voted for Sawant in the past. Never again!

Apply the laws to everyone equally! Encampments are illegal and dangerous. Keep funding the navigation teams and work on housing first!

I do not want heroin injection sites in Seattle or anyplace here in Washington state. This is a horrible idea. Thank you.

We need to continue this compassionate disruption of their unhealthy, unsafe living situations, the idea being that if you are disrupted enough times you might make a different choice than in the past when it comes to the help offered to unhoused individuals during clean ups (and aren’t there enough resources available to House every ubhoused person in the city?)Fund recovery and rehab services instead of enabling homelessness. People want to talk about being compassionate, letting people live in squalor and enabling addicts to remain sick and hopelessly addicted isn’t being compassionate.

Either put them up in your house, or stop enabling lawlessness!

Sweeps are an ineffective economic and social control measure!! Stop the Sweeps!
