Unsanctioned Camping is Unsafe! Fully Fund Compassionate Intervention!

This is not a matter of nimby... it’s a matter of public safety. Enough!

I do not claim to understand the draft language proviso but I surely do understand I want no camping in parks, [be they activated or unactivated.....]

Washington ranks as one of the states with lowest level of psychiatric beds. As we have all heard in the news many of our homeless are a danger to themselves and others. This type of homelessness is a State and a city issue and those homeless with psychiatric issues need a bed so they can manage their issues.

It is not fair or right to allow camping in all parts of public parks and other public areas of the city. This is land that belongs to us all and should be preserved as such. I do not wish to be walking my dog around unsafe litter that accumulates with tent camping in public areas.

No illegal camping!!! These are hot beds for crime, rape, abuses against humanity and do NOTHING to help those in need.

No camping in parks and open space. Our city looks like a garbage dump already.

I've been a resident in Seattle for 4.5 years now. Before Seattle I lived in both NYC and SF and I have never seen such a problem with homelessness. It's dangerous for all to allow tents on every on and off ramp, with homeless people walking along the freeway to access their tents. Please clean up our city and do a better job of providing mental and drug abuse services to those that need it. I think our acceptance of homelessness is encouraging more to come here and exasperating our problems.

No tent camping in parks. Period

The homeless need to be helped off the streets, into housing and not into parks --where they are still homeless.

Absolutely not! I run thru these parks daily in the early morning, the last thing I want to experience is more tents. Not to mention the garbage that gets accumulated with the current illegal encampments, with no solution for clean up.

Do not legalize camping on city green spaces. My neighborhood is dealing with this now and frequently find needles and other drug paraphernalia. This is dangerous and needs to be stopped.

No legal encampments, that is disgusting and dangerous!!

I strongly oppose the city council member’s proposed proviso on homeless encampments.

The citizens of Seattle already provide the needed services for the homeless and it's working for the homeless that want to change their circumstances. I'm against any change in the current policy that would allow camping in Seattle parks or green spaces.

Please keep parks safe for our community and children.

Please do not stop the funding for unsanctioned homeless camp removals after outreach efforts have been made. We must not allow more of our greenspaces, parks, and under our highways and bridges to become unsanitary, garbage filled, dangerous, and open drug use camps. The mentally ill and drug addicts need services, but many will never receive treatment and real housing if they are allowed to stay in their camps. We need more efforts toward this goal, not less.

City Council Members: Your social experiments aren’t working. Stop considering homeless encampments at public parks. Consider asking residents (including yourself) if they’d like to House a homeless encampment in their backyard.

The city is ignoring the interest of many citizen in using these green spaces. I will do all I can, with my vote, money to against you.

We need to work to get people inside not to make it easier to be outside.
