Unsanctioned Camping is Unsafe! Fully Fund Compassionate Intervention!

I personally have picked up needles in green spaces occupied by campers. Campers and the city can benefit by allowing campers only in sanctioned designated areas. Tents and garbage across the street from the Space Needle shows negligence on the part of the city.

This proposal is disgraceful and will be another giant stride forward to ruin this city. You should all be ashamed of yourselves for you lack of leadership and lack of concern for the citizens you proport to represent. Appalling!

Some city council members seem hell bent on rendering our public parks and spaces unsafe and unsanitary. We voted for a parks levy recently - paying more for something that will not be safe to use if this goes through. This is neither compassionate nor rational.

The situation is unsanitary, I see the orange needle caps all the time where I work. Such a waste of taxpayer money spent to evict and clean up the land and haul enormous piles of trash only to see a new camp happening virtually the next day at the same location or just down the street from the site that was just remediated.

No more encampments.

Please do not legalize camping in the City's green spaces! These encampments are unsafe and unhealthy for everyone, including the homeless. This is NOT a good way to help the homeless.

Seattle's green spaces are a community treasure and all people (homeless included) are of inestimable worth. Caring for the latter should not come at the expense of the former.

Seattle City Council, Wake up and respond to your constituents. Letting homeless( and visitors) camp in parks does nothing for the long-term well-being of the homeless population. Presumably, most of the homeless would prefer not to continue to be homeless. Therefore, they need to be entrained into social services. Furthermore, the prospect of the degradation of the safety and cleanliness of our green spaces is truly dispiriting. Do your jobs or be fired!

NO PUBLIC CAMPING. Its dangerous, and a disgrace to our beautiful City. I live and vote in Seattle, and I pay attention to public officials positions. DO THE RIGHT THING.

I think the city should concentrate on providing affordable housing for people who are actually working and trying to make ends meet.

Please stop trying to turn over our parks to addicts and criminals and concentrate on ways to help the homeless that don't trample on the rights of the rest of us!

Elect better leaders on the council.

Parks must be safe places for our communities including children and loved ones. Turning our heads/ignoring the situation for others to deal with is not the option.

I have great concerns over homeless encampments in anywhere but sanctioned locations. As a jogger I find it unsafe and scary when I to stumble across a homeless encampment in our many trails and I find it incredibly offensive that the city allows homeless anywhere near parks that my children frequent. The conditions in these cases is unsightly and I have great concerns over needles, human waste and the dangerous trash left near these camps.

the city council is out of touch with the real world as a driver for a freight company I see the business community slowly moving out of seattle and fencing there parking lot to protect people and property this is so sad

I do not support camping in public parks by anyone. Please continue to remove and clean up illegal camping. There is a better more humane way to address homelessness without encouraging people to break the law. Protection of the health and safety of all citizens, and respect for private and public property should not be undermined by ineffective efforts to help the homeless. I am also deeply concerned about the latest data that shows Seattle's property crime is highest in the country. How did we get to this? Please do what is needed to address voters' concerns about what is happening in our neighborhoods - illegal RV parking, trash dumping, and illegal camping. Thank you.

We are fed up with the city's inaction and failure to enforce the law. Changing the law to match legalize the inaction is not the answer. Our neighborhoods are under assault and the city does nothing. This budget proposal will wreck our property values and subject us all to worsening conditions in our neighborhoods.
