Unsanctioned Camping is Unsafe! Fully Fund Compassionate Intervention!

No more homeless trash dumps in city spaces! Let them move to Sawant's house if she's so happy to see them all over the place!

I dislike camping in our city. We cannot let this become normal scenery and a way of life that we ignore. It is not safe for anybody.

This is a counter-step in the right direction. The real next step should be intervention: enter housing, enter treatment, or leave seattle

Please do not allow our city parks to become "tent parks," and places families can no longer enjoy. It's more than reasonable to stick with what works. More and more homeless from other cities would come in droves to Seattle. Our city's character has changed so very much in 20 years. Compassion and a system that works is better than opening up green spaces. It would be a mess in every aspect.

I support Mayor Burgess' budget to continue to remove unauthorized encampments under compassionate rules. I do not know enough about the "includes funding to build more permanent housing and improve our shelter system" to support that part or not. Over the last few years we have dramatically increased our property taxes to build more affordable housing. There is a limit to what we can afford. However, we can not allow people to camp wherever they want. It's not safe for the campers or people living around them.

Stop allowing people to ruin our shared public spaces

Enough of turning our public parks into drug infested toxic waste sites by legalizing homeless camps everywhere in the city. With our increased density we need the parks more than ever. Find another solution to homeless camps.

Public spaces are for everyone. Not for living in.

Please please stop this insanity. This is where we live and work. Letting homeless people "camp" on our city is not the answer!!!

There is no pre-ordained right to live in Seattle. It is not my responsibility to spend my increasingly stretched paycheck to house ever-increasing numbers of 'homeless' who mooch off of my tax dollars. I can barely afford to live in Seattle any longer! Homelessness can never be resolved. Has no council member even talked to homeless people? Some of those with whom I have talked 1) moved to Freattle from somewhere else due to our social services; b) don't WANT to live in shelters. One young man, from Boston (at least that's where he told me he was from) said 'I don't want to follow shelter rules'. Well, guess what? I don't want to provide him shelter. He can return to Boston.

We've been through this before and the public outcry was enormous. Why is the council doing this again. Resource prevention!!!

Outrageous effort to destroy our community - I support Burgess proposal.

This would make our green spaces unusable and attractive for many to migrate here who want to camp out for free. There has to be a different and humane way to approach this issue.
