These people need help, not abandonment. Camping in parks is also a safety issue.

All these homeless people are trashing our beautiful city-I'm tired of looking at it

Encouraging camping in the city is not the answer to homelessness. It only attracts more campers.

Tent cities are a sign of failure not success. People are suffering because of this failure.

Belltown DSHS needs to return to having street access services and outreach. They've become a more typical call center, further serving as a barrier to help the homeless population of Seattle.

Unhelpful, a public health hazard, doesn't solve anything.

Let’s start using empty buildings until they are needed by the contractors/owners.

I think that allowing camping in city parks is bad for our park environments, poses potential hazards for park users and does not help homeless people move toward safer living situations. Defunding the successful Navigation Team program is a huge step backwards in improving the lives of homeless people and protecting our parks.

It seems the Seattle City Council has a problem remembering things... Perhaps a total recall would help?

Enforce trespass laws and get homeless off our streets and parks!

If this proviso is adopted our homeless population will increase and it will be logistically impossible to efficiently provide outreach. I speak to patients at the VA who are homeless and say they're here because Seattle has a reputation of tolerance. Sawant's and Obrien's "compassion" is definitely misguided.

Stop 'camping' in public spaces. The city should develop a camping space for the homeless where they MUST pay to stay and follow rules. Contributing towards their own expenses is a compassionate way to show them they are part of the community where no one gets to 'live for free' and everyone must contribute... Even on SSI or SSA disability they can contribute a small amount.
