Unsanctioned Camping is Unsafe! Fully Fund Compassionate Intervention!

Our city should provide our vulnerable homeless population with safe and respectful alternatives to camping in public spaces.

Please stop illegal, filthy, dangerous homeless encampments

Unsafe homeless camping at Ravenna Park is getting dangerous. I stepped over a used hypo needle on the trail last week!

We do not want our parks taken over by homeless. The homeless outside the authorized encampments don't want help and chose to live in unauthorized areas because of drug addiction and mental health.

Not a good solution

These people need more than just a place to be and to keep their things. They need jobs, food and a place to go to the bathroom and leave their garbage. Please don't let this be the demise of our green environment. We need our city to be a clean and friendly place that people want to visit. Please don't invite more homeless to care for into our city by allowing free for all camping. That's just going to make our city a gross and dirty place, not to mention unsafe and unsanitary. Pleas Keep Seattle green and free of camping!

Please do not allow camping anywhere in public parks or common areas. It is not safe for anyone.

Wake up Council and recognize there are more helpful and compassionate ways to be dealing with a problem that is around the country!

Please focus on long term solutions and short term interventions to keep public spaces safe and useful for taxpayers and visitors - not illegal encampments.

Fund permant housing and incentives to use it including encampment sweeps

I've lived on Beacon Hill (directly above the Jungle) for 30 years. These campsites have been allowed to exist way too long.

More housing needs to be addressed as well as mental help for those living outside. It isn’t acceptable to me that parks can’t be used because of people camping, that our kids and older generations are afraid to use the parks.

Please make it illegal to camp wherever you want. It is not safe or sanitary for the homeless or the rest of the community.

Laws need to be enforced. Camping on the street is not safe and destroying the city. Do your damn job and protect the citizens and our investments in this city.

Providing services versus allowing homeless to encamp wherever they want is not the answer. Once you allow tents in parks and homeless vehicles to park endlessly wherever they want and for as long as they want, the public no longer gets to use that public space. Therefore, Seattle needs to get its act together by getting ahead of the issues and not letting them stagnant for no one's benefit.

The homeless need help. Enabling them to camp wherever they wish is destructive to them and our city. It is not the kind of help they need. They need shelter and opportunities to change. It seems like we have more compassion for homeless animals. We don't encourage them to roam the streets where it is unsafe for them. we provide them with clean warm shelters, good grooming, food, and an opportunity for a better life. Surely we can do as much for homeless people!
