I have children and I love this city for all the nature we have available. Please keep our parlan safe and drug/feces/urine and garbage free and find a better solution for those that are living in the streets AND in their vehicles

I don't feel safe walking any more. What about creating jobs for homeless people, providing some of the services needed to reduce or manage encampments?

We pay for our parks to be safe havens for people and preserved habitat for nature. Camping and trampling vegetation destroys what the parks are meant to preserve. Also, as a woman, I feel very unsafe with campers in the woods. As a homeowner, I know the illegal campers cook on campfires - even during a very dry summer. It is only a matter of time before a fire gets out of control. Create a different dedicated place for campers, and do NOT use our parks.

Public Safety is at risk for residents living in the neighborhoods affected by the homeless encampments and for the people living in the encampments, need to get them in permanent housing.

The proposed proviso isn't even a step toward a real solution and would likely perpetuate the problem.

I grew up in Seattle and am heartbroken with the homelessness mess I see every day. If you have a problem, you are offered help and you refuse it, you are not welcome to trash my neighborhood. This includes camping, squatting, robbing, defacating, taking over bus stops from those who need them and more. I am NOT in favor of building houses for people who choose to be homeless. A helping hand is one thing, but I feel Seattle taxpayers have footed the bill long enough.

Seattle taxpayers spend millions protecting and enhancing our public parks. Don’t destroy these precious assets by permitting unlawful encampments in parks.

Letting people camp wherever while some engage in habits and behaviors that only further diminish them is cheap compassion. Real compassion helps them onto another path through multiple means: stable housing, setting boundaries, removing barriers to care and application of appropriate consequences. These are the things done in treatment programs and the city would do well to model.

Keep our parks safe, clean and useful to all. Do not allow homeless encampments in our city parks!

Please spend $ and energy on programs that are working rather than turn our city, especially parks, into open camping with all the accompanying problems. Taxpayers can have compassion and still want their tax dollars to allow them unimpeded use of parks and public sidewalks.

What's happening at Green Lake? Tents have appeared and people are lighting up pot pipes by the community center. Why can't we have one place that doesn't contain needles?

I am totally in support of stopping illegal encampments. These folks are trashing our city, and I see it every day as I drive by or onto the freeways. It really makes me upset. I don't know the answer, but these messy, unsafe and illegal occupations of public property must be stopped!!!
